Modeling

This is my new BFF Lucy Pug.

These are the boy pugs I met at the photo shoot.  Puglet kept his tail uncurled while he was away from his mommy.

A few weeks ago my mommy discovered www.1000pugs.com where a photographer was going around the country photographing 1000 pugs for a book.  The proceeds go to pug rescues all over the country, and when my mommy found this out, she could not resist signing me up.

We traveled to Santa Barbara yesterday for my photo shoot.  I met lots of other pugs there (see the pictures above).  But I went there to work :)  So during my shoot I made sure to turn on my pug charm and work for all the treats the photographer was giving out.  She was so nice, she gave me so many treats and all I had to do was to look pretty!

I have posted a short video of my shoot for you all to see.  If you have a pug or love pugs you should donate for a great cause! www.1000pugs.com

Dog Beach

My auntie came to visit me a couple of weeks ago. I love it when she comes to visit because that means that there is one more set of hands to give me pets!  It also means one more lap to sit on.  It is so great.

When she came to visit, my mom, my auntie, and me went to the dog beach.  Now I do not really care for water, in fact I hate it, but I was willing to give it a shot because I meant that I got to go with my humans.  When we got to the beach I was surprised at how many other doggies were there.  It was pretty awesome.  Even more awesome, there were lots of humans to get pets from!

I found a lab that looks like my friend Bahja and we hung out in the shade.  Mom tried to make me go in the ocean, but I wasn't having any of that.  I like to watch the water from a distance.

I like the dog beach, I think I will have to talk my humans into taking me there again sometime soon.

Surgery... again

On Wednesday last week I had a breathing issue that made my mom nervous, so off to the vet we went.  It turns out my soft pallet was overgrown and blocking my breathing.  So I had to go in for another surgery.

Thursday morning I went in bright and early.  The vets love me, especially since I am in there so much! I had to stay over night and wait all day Friday to be released back to my mommy.  But the surgery went well and I am breathing much better :)

However I was ordered to be in low activity, but I am just so excited to be home I cannot contain myself.  My mommy and daddy are tying to keep me calm, but it doesn't work often.  I just hope that my wound heals up, especially because I want to be back on hard treats!!!

Now that I am doing better, my brother has to go in for surgery on Friday for his knee.  We are just a mess in our house.

The good news is that my mom is done with all of her hard work for the summer, she is only in one class now, so she is going to have lots of time to paper my brother and me!

Paws crossed for snuggles and treats all day!!

Training Humans

After much consideration, I have decided that my humans are finally trained to meet my desires.  Today I was wanting my mom to lift the blanket so I could go under to be nice and warm while napping.  All I had to do was look at the blanket and my mommy lifted it up for me. A little later I was hanging out in with my dad and I looked at the door to go back out to my mom and he opened it for me.  No need to bark or scratch, my parents are trained.

And to a pug there is nothing better then having your humans trained to your desires. :)

Pugs make the best nurses

My mommy was on Spring Break last week and she left me for a weekend with my daddy.  I always think that my mom should never go anywhere without me, its just rude.

But my mom got sick and had to come home early, which actually made me extremely happy.  Not that I like it when she doesn't feel well, but when she is sick she lays on the couch with me all day long.  That is my favorite, all day snuggles.  It also means that I get to be her nurse.  I make sure that I keep her warm and give her lots of love :)

Not that I am happy she is sick, but I think that it might be karma or something like that for leaving me.  Let that be a lesson to humans: pugs should go everywhere you go!

Sorry it has been so long

Hi friends I am sorry I haven't written a blog in so long, but my mom has been hogging the computer doing her graduate school work (as that is more important then me writing a blog).

So I thought my first blog back should be a little funny.  My brother, the english bulldog (Willie Mays), has been scratching his ears a lot (we think he has a skin allergy).  That is not the funny part.

Since he has been scratching his ear, my dad bought him a comfy cone to wear to make sure that he doesn't itch and cut himself.  But with the cone on he looks like a satellite dish and runs into everything.  My dad even started calling him BONK because he can't tell how wide he is anymore and thinks he is my size!  Silly bulldog, but i am the little one in this family.

The cone also makes it easier for me to run away when he gets all hyper.  So I love him in the cone, but he hates it.  For right now I am enjoying being able to run around him without him catching me :)

So this is short and sweet for my first one back I promise there will more this week.  Bark at you later pug pals

Switched to Canned food

So now that I am all better and not throwing up anymore, I have gotten some good news and some not such good news.

First the good news: I get to eat canned food now.  This food tastes so much better and I can trick my parents into giving me a little bit more food then I used to. SCORE!

Bad News: I can no longer have people food.  This is maybe the worst news a pug can hear.  I mean why shouldn't my people share with me their favorite pug on the planet? But since my tummy needs only easily digestible food, I am all canned food for now.

Maybe I should find a new vet that says people food is good for pugs!!
